The Castle and the Main Rooms

From the driveway and park, a great door forms the entrance to the Château. The location of the original drawbridge mechanism is clearly visible. From the main door you enter the Courtyard with its stunning views across the valley. On the left are the original Keep and the remains of the chapel, part of which is now an upper terrace reached by a wide stone staircase. On the right is the main part of the building, with separate entrances to La Salle Voutée and La Salle des Etats.

With minor exceptions, guests are welcome to use any of the rooms in the Château. The Château is first and foremost a luxury family home and furnished accordingly, mainly with French antiques.

La Salle des États

La Salle des Etats is the Château’s Great Hall: an immense two-storey room with a wide gallery. The three-metre-thick walls show its medieval origins. Note the beautiful 15th century fireplace where our staff will keep a blazing fire going in winter, and the 17th century painted ceiling, best viewed from the gallery.

The room is suitable for a wide range of purposes including large and prestige events, concerts, parties, product launches and other special events. Capacity depends on use:

  • buffets and drinks parties: 100 people
  • conferences, seminars and lectures: up to 120 people with up to 40 more in the gallery
  • banquets : 80 people, or for simpler dining: 100
  • presentations and training courses: 80 people

La Salle des Notables (Le Salon)

Le Salon provides a comfortable area for relaxation, with a fireplace and ample seating, a large flat-screen home theatre system with surround sound and satellite TV (including a range of English language channels), and an extensive library of books and CDs. There is a large table for board games, buffets or snacks, several smaller tables and a baby grand piano. An 18th century Aubusson tapestry covers one wall opposite the fireplace. The window overlooks the Célé valley towards Figeac and glazed double doors lead out onto the terrace with a giant chess set, and steps giving access to the gardens and the park.

The salon is also suitable for meetings or as a break-out room for seminars or training sessions. Our staff will prepare an open fire in winter. Broadband Wi-Fi internet access is available from this room.

La Salle Voutée (The Dining Room)

The vaulted dining room opens onto the courtyard, the kitchen, the salon, the ante-room to La Salle des Etats and the wide spiral staircase to the upper floors. It seats up to 14. (Larger numbers dine in La Salle des Etats). The glazed double doors onto the courtyard provide a light, airy feel to this room. Enjoy a relaxing meal prepared by our staff and drinks out in the courtyard while watching the spectacular sunset.

The room is also suitable for meetings or as a break-out room for seminars or training sessions.
