Named after Prince Rainier of Monaco, a former guest here, this is a large bedroom on the first floor, with a "Baldequin" canopy double bed. The walls are panelled in dark wood and covered in rich fabric. The en-suite bathroom is tiled in hand-made Portuguese tiles. There are two desks, one facing the window overlooking the park, the other looking out across the courtyard and the Célé valley.
There is a private terrace, with access to the upper terrace and courtyard.
Le Demoiseau, reached from Le Prince, is a small supplementary bedroom with a single bed and doors giving onto both Le Prince and its bathroom.
Bedrooms – Le Sénéchal
This is a stunning double en suite room on the first floor, with a "Baldequin" canopy bed. It enjoys breathtaking views both along and across the Célé valley: among the best in the Château. There is a sitting area and desk. Wi-Fi internet access is available in this room. Access is via the gallery that runs the length of La Salle des Etats.
The bathroom is very large, with immaculate décor and spectacular views.
Le Connétable, between Le Sénéchal and La Châtelaine, is a small office reserved for the use of our staff.
Bedrooms - L’Ecuyer
This is a very large and exceptionally light and airy south-facing twin room on the first floor, with an en suite bathroom. There is a sitting area and a writing desk facing the window overlooking the park.
The room is reached from the main landing. The private toilet is located immediately outside the room
Bedrooms – La Châtelaine
This is a very large single en suite room with an antique four-poster bed. The room has a writing desk facing the window which enjoys views over the Célé valley towards Figeac. There is an en-suite bathroom and separate toilet. Wi-Fi internet access is available in this room. Due to the age of the bed, it is not of a standard length, so this room is not recommended for anyone over 170 cm tall (5’8”).
Le Chevalier, adjoining La Châtelaine, is a large private sitting room that can also serve as a single bedroom, with a large day-bed. It has ample seating and can also be used as a break-out room for seminars and training courses. Wifi internet access is available in this room.
The guest in this room shares the bathroom facilities of La Châtelaine.
Bedrooms - Les Jongleurs
This is a very large, exceptionally light and airy en suite twin room on the second floor, with northerly and southerly views, among the best in the Château, overlooking the park to the south and the Courtyard and Célé valley to the north. There is a sitting area and two desks, one facing each window.
Le Paladin, reached from Les Jongleurs, is a supplementary bedroom with a large single bed and doors leading to Les Jongleurs and its bathroom. A secret staircase connects this room to Le Demoiseau below.
Bedrooms - Le Troubadour
This is a large, exceptionally light and airy south-facing twin room on the second floor, with an en-suite bathroom. There is a sitting area, and a writing desk facing the window which overlooks the park.
The room is reached from the second floor landing. The toilet is located in the shower room outside the door, and is shared with Le Croisé.
Bedrooms - Le Croisé
This is a large twin room on the second floor, with a view over the garden to the south. Opposite the door is a shower room, and toilet shared with Le Troubadour. Le Croisé is reached from the second floor landing.
Bedrooms – Le Poète
This is a large single en suite room on the ground floor, with a four-poster bed and exceptionally large, luxurious bathroom. There is a sitting area and desk, next to the window, which overlooks the Célé valley towards Figeac. Wi-Fi internet access is available in this room.
Le Poète was named after Paul Valéry, the famous French poet who was a frequent visitor to the Château. The room is accessed from the salon and has separate private access to La Salle des Etats.
Notes
All the en suite bathrooms have a deep oversize bathtub with a shower attachment, and the water pressure and supply of hot water is more than adequate, even when the Château is fully occupied.
In general there are no individual room keys. Where keys are provided, we ask that you only use them to secure rooms from the inside; otherwise, our staff’s job is made very difficult or impossible.
Our insurers will not allow us to accept responsibility for loss or damage to guests’ property and we suggest you take out suitable insurance. If you intend to bring a laptop, we suggest the use of a Kensington lock.
